Independent Schools Inspectorate Reports

  • The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is a body approved by the Secretary of State for Education for the purpose of inspecting independent schools.

  • Sompting Abbotts underwent its Regulatory Compliance Inspection in May 2023 and “all conditions were met”. These inspections are designed to give schools an opportunity to review processes and amend procedures as needed, establishing whether the school meets each of the ISI regulations, rather than making a judgement on the quality of the educational provision. The report itself lists whether each regulation has been ‘met’ or ‘not met’. The school was deemed to be compliant in all respects.

  • The school underwent a Monitoring Visit in January 2020, which concluded that all regulatory requirements mentioned in the 2019 report ‘were met’.

  • The school also underwent a Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection in March 2019 for which the pupils' academic achievement and personal development was deemed 'good' and 'excellent'.
