A warm welcome to our school Open Afternoon!
Drop into our informal open afternoon on Friday 4 May from 3 to 5pm and stay for tea and cake. It's the perfect opportunity to drive through the gates, see our historic Neo-Gothic house and 30 acres of grounds, meet our friendly staff and pupils, and have a tour. We've lots of fun activities for children to try out. Our school tours will start at 3.30 but latecomers are most welcome.
3 – 3.20pm Chat with the Headmaster over tea in the Library
3.20 – 5pm Tour the school and its woods, gardens, sports facilities and grounds and meet staff and pupils and drop-in activities
What will be going on?
3.30 – 5pm: Discover the Pre-Prep. Parents of children aged 2 – 7 can visit our Pre-Prep Department, see our bright, well-resourced classrooms and meet the teachers. Children can join in with Sensory Activities in the Nursery or get stuck into crafts and activities on the upper floor. Or burn off steam in our adventure playground in the Walled Garden.
3.30 – 5pm: Discover the Main School. Parents can visit the school, tour the classrooms and meet teachers. Your children are welcome to watch or join in with any of our Friday Afternoon Extra-Curricular Clubs: Dance, Mountain Biking, Shooting, Arduino Coding Club, French Club, Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) or Saxon Club

At Sompting Abbotts, we adopt a school-wide ethos that embodies our commitment to the environment. Its principles – 'Embrace Nature; Embrace Learning; Embrace Childhood' – are threaded through our teaching, influencing every child's journey from Pre-Prep to Upper Prep. Our 30-acre grounds and woodland in the South Downs National Park are at its roots.
